The topic of standards or best practices for VUI design has long been a topic of discussion and debate in the design community. Organizations often request that their IVR be designed according to industry best practices, but until now, there has been no single, accepted set of principles for voice interaction design. The Association for Voice Interaction Design (AVIxD) is providing a remedy to this situation through its working group on design guidelines.
