Biographical Information
Sondra Ahlén

 Sondra Ahlén is the principal consultant and owner of SAVIC, an independent VUI consulting firm in California's Sierra Foothills. With 20 years in the computational linguistics and voice interaction field, Sondra has designed, translated, tested, tuned, and provided mentoring for speech recognition systems across a broad range of industry verticals. Recent projects include the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) 2011 Language Survey and the 2011 Call Talk Call Center Latino Language Survey. Prior to founding SAVIC, Sondra was a Senior VUI Designer at Nuance. Sondra holds an advanced degree in Linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as degrees in Computer Science and Spanish from Sonoma State University and Napa College.
