Brian Garr has been a CEO/CTO/COO/CRO for various startups, and was a founder, and CEO of LinguaSys, Inc. Prior to LinguaSys, Brian was Program Director for IBM Software Group's Voice Technologies. He was with IBM for 10 years in the Software Group's Speech and Voice groups and is a frequent speaker on voice and translation technologies, and a frequent author for magazines concentrating on this space, including the recently published Where Humans Meet Machines: Innovative Solutions for Knotty Natural-Language Problems, edited by Amy Neustein and Judith A. Markowitz (Jun 30, 2013). Prior to joining IBM, Brian was the Chief Technology Officer for Globalink, a machine translation company based in Virginia. He was awarded the "Heroes in Technology" honor in 1998 by the Smithsonian Institute along with Computerworld Magazine.
