Ideally, self-service allows customers to complete goals efficiently while saving companies money, but, in reality, users often avoid self-service and find ways to “game the system” to their advantage. How can we design self-service to drive user adoption and have a positive long-term effect? This talk explores some onboarding and gamification techniques applied to mobile virtual assistants which have produced remarkable benefits for both users and companies.
