Q. Peter Li

Dr. Li has over 20 year experience in voice biometrics research and system development. He is author of the book, Speaker Authentication (Springer 2012). From 1995 to 2002, he worked at Bell Laboratories, AT&T and then Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill, NJ, where he developed the voice biometric system that won best performance in a speaker verification evaluation conducted by one of the largest banks in the U.S. He established Li Creative Technologies, Inc., Florham Park, NJ in 2002. LcT focuses on audio, speech, and biometric R&D and has developed a voice biometric solution for mobile devices with near 0% error rates. LcT had been awarded many contracts from US government agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, DARPA, the Air Force, and the Army and from private industry to develop and deliver high quality biometric solutions and products.
Dr. Li received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, in 1995. Dr. Li holds more than one dozen patents. He has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He is an elected member of the Speech and Language Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. He was a Local Chair for the IEEE Workshop on Automatic Identification. He and his team received the 2006 Best Consumer Technology/Electronics Company Award from the New Jersey Technology Council and the 2011 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award.
