 James Scott Balentine is a composer, arranger, performer and conductor, and is Professor of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He teaches courses in music theory and composition, electronic music, and jazz studies. His recent work involves the use of speech synthesis with live musicians, emphasizing the continuing development and control of voice synthesis as a creative musical technique. Dr. Balentine holds the DMA in Composition degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
