Biographical Information
Walter Rolandi

 Walter Rolandi, Ph.D. was the Principal Usability Scientist for VUI Design and Assessment at TuVox, Inc. when it was purchased by West Interactive in 2010. He currently serves in the same capacity at West. Prior to joining TuVox, he owned and operated The Voice User Interface Company, LLC, a private consultancy specialized in the design and empirical assessment of voice user interfaces. Unique within the field, Dr. Rolandi utilizes methods derived from applied behavior analysis to measure and improve VUI usability. During the last ten years, Dr. Rolandi has made numerous presentations at industry conferences and exhibitions. In addition to contributing to various industry magazines including CRM Magazine, he wrote a regular column called The Human Factor for Speech Technology Magazine for approximately six years. He is a Full Member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and an official advisor to the gethuman.com movement.
