At SpeechTEK 2008, attendees and a panel of judges had an opportunity to meet at the SpeechTEK Labs to conduct an interactive, hands-on evaluation of some of the
latest speech technology products. Attendees and judges tested products in three categories: Speech Tools, Multimodal Applications, and Voice-activated Games.
Some of the speech tools evaluated, under the direction of Moshe Yudkowsky, president of Disaggregate Consulting, were AjaxWeaver's VoiceXML Orchestrator, Avaya's Dialog Designer, Cisco's Unified Call Studio
7.0, Envox's Communications Development Platform, Loquendo's TTS Director, LumenVox's Speech Tuner, VocaLabs' survey reports, and a testing solution from Voiyager.
Deborah Dahl, principal at Conversational Technologies, spearheaded the evaluations of multimodal applications, such as Integrated Multichannel Testing from IQ Services,
Intervoice's Voice Portal, and Loquendo's Voice Multimodal Application Framework. Attendees were also able to join David Thomson, CTO of SpeechPhone, as he evaluated
some of Nuance's latest speech-enabled video games, such as Tom Clancy's End War.
